but Khawas Khan denied that he knew anything about it until he brought the money over to Mr. Dixon on the 10th. September last. I submit this cannot be either possible or probable by reason of the fact that he lives in the same house as his brother the said Sirdar Khan and further sore by reason of the very bitter family feud between us. Two days later every Tom Dick Harry knew about it and then I got the particulars of the case and knew what it re- -lated to. I and my uncle the said Subadar Major are the only two substantial persons and capable of fighting the show in the vill- -aye out with them and if they could unable us in any respect they know that they would be in a position to master the village but as it is they cannot do it.

Mohamed Ackber was a Sergeant teaching in a Military School in the longkong and Singapore Battalion Royal Garrison Artillery and was a subordinate of my uncle the said Subedar-ajor. My uncle is the only Pathan out of the 800 to 900 members of that corps and has been Commissioned Officer in the Corps for about 19 years and is now the head man. The Punjabis have a natural hatred against the Pathans. I would leave out all small matters. During the last year Mohamed Ackber x as he admitted assaulted the Indian Doctor attached to my uncle's corps. Lohamed Ackber wanted my uncle to give evidence for him with which he could win his

case. My uncle refused to interfere in the matter on behalf of either side. He then wrote a long letter to my uncle the tone of which was not very pleasant. Unfortunately my uncle tore the letter. He then interviewed him persunally and

both from the military and civil to request the Doctor to with-

-draw the case against him and agreed top pay his own Solicitor's

and the Doctor's It Solicitor's costs. The case was then with-

-drawn and Mohamed Ackber in addition to the costs he had to

apologize to the Doctor in writing.

Mohamed Ackber had been after my post in the Registry since
